山东省情网站为山东省政府主管、山东省地方史志办公室主办的社会公益类资源性网站。
改革开放30年来，山东省社会主义新方志编纂工作取得了丰硕成果。根据中华人民共和国国务院颁布的《地方志工作条例》和山东省人大常委会制定的《山东省地方史志工作条例》，山东省地方史志办公室创办了山东省情网站，将征集整理的大量地情资料数字化，有步骤地向公众开放，服务于经济建设和社会发展。
山东省情网站经过十多年的建设，已建成拥有数十亿字的地情资料库，具备跨网站、跨服务器海量数据迅捷检索功能，有效链接全省17个市级、140个县级地情网站，实现了三级联网，互联互通，资源共享，是全省信息量最大、最权威、受众面最广的地情网站群。
山东省情网站数据库的资料来源，是全省史志系统开展社会主义新方志编纂以来形成的近百亿字省情、地情资料。这些资料贯穿古今，横及百科，涵盖范围广，古今跨度最大，资料系统全面。
山东省情网站自1998年开通运行以来，经过多次改版。目前主页面设计为新闻中心、全省概况、省情资料库、齐鲁风情、资政研究5大板块。含“省情动态”“史志动态”“外埠动态”“全省概况”“市县概况”“数字山东”“画说山东”“齐鲁人物”“游遍山东”“历史上的山东”“地方文献”等20多个栏目。二级栏目100多个，总页面4300多个。省情资料库在线资料上亿字。
山东省情网站秉承“服务经济建设与社会发展”的办站宗旨，尽力打造“大众化的专业网站，专业化的大众网站”。主页设计美观大方，栏目设置科学合理，技术管理紧随互联网科技步伐。在弘扬先进文化，优化网络环境，促进全省经济社会又好又快发展中做出了积极的贡献。
山东省情网站为山东省10家优秀政府网站之一。2008年5月，被山东省委宣传部、山东省政府新闻办公室、山东省通信管理局授予“山东省优秀网站”称号。

The website has more than 20 first-class columns like Provincial Dynamic,City Dynamic,Outside Dynamic,General Situation of Shandong Province,General Situantion to Cities, Districs and Counties,Digital Shandong,Painting Shandong, Celebrities,Travel Around Shandong,Historical Shandong,The Literature and Materials of Local Chronicles etc and more than one hundred second-class columns, there are more than 4,300 total pages and billions words of geographical database on line.
